One of the oldest, and most respected Gaming comics around. Tends to focus only on games he's currently playing though, which can get a bit repetitive with his MMO fixes.

http://gucomics.com/

A comic about an elitist nerd and his group of friends. Extremely well done characters, nothing over the top or too cliche like self insertion tends to wind up as.

"Joe Loves Crappy Movies". Reviews and comics about movies this guy goes to see. And he goes to see everything

http://www.digitalpimponline.com/strips ... itle=movie

"Achewood" I really don't know where to start on this one. Discovered it through people on the Realm forums talking about it. Has comic genius such as "Whats it like to murder someone Nice Pete?" "Well. I'm over here, the other player is over there. I put the other guys body in my van, and I win"

Be sure to check out 8-Bit Theater, which uses the 8-bit characters from Final Fantasy. It's pretty good, you'll have to check out the archives and start from the beginning!

Brian Clevinger is the author of the comic, he blogs every day or so. He also wrote the book Nuklear Age and the comic series' Atomic Robo!

Unwinder's Tall Comics and Terror Island are my favorites right now, but they aren't for everyone despite what this one says upside-down on the bottom.

Others I highly recommend are:
Rice-boy - If you read any of these make it this, its a really nice fantasy adventure in a world with all original creatures. the Rice-boy story is over but he recently started a prequel called Order of Tales
Allan - Which is an oddly engaging and endearing journal comic
Dinosaur Comics - A good-natured comic with dinosaurs discussing a wide array of topics. Its a lot more interesting than it sounds
Hitmen for Destiny - This... this is hard to describe, because it is the ugliest comic I've ever seen and a very absurd and kinda campy story about a girl with a magic sword killing monsters. But if you give it some time (At least up until Lostlock and his class are introduced) its a fun read. I guess I'd describe it like Star Trek in that it has a low production value and is pretty ridiculous at first glance, but if you get yourself involved its great.

I guess with most of these, if you can get over the art (uglyish for Unwinder and Hitmen and staticish for Terror Island and Dino Comics) Give em a try if you have time.

Curse you and Rice-boy! It kept me up way too late reading it.

Interesting, Cho, you have Misfile but not The Wotch or El Goonish Shive in the list. (Maybe it is just because I discovered those three about the same time that I link them so strongly together. Also, all have similar things, just EGS and The Wotch are more zanier about it)

EGS is a story with mad science, aliens, magic, transformations, anime-style martial arts, a bisexual female duplicate of a male main character, and a telekinetic, shape-shifting squirrel girl, all done with very good writing from the artist. (You probably have seen my posts of EGS strips in other locales)

Oh, and here is a motivational poster for you about it:

How can you lack links to comics? Cho is in a comic:

No way! LFG and LICD are related?

I never noticed. (But doesn't LICD switch artists occasionally?)

LICD does swap artists...but so far as I know. Lars is planning on continuing LICD for the foreseeable future...and is actually talking about starting a new comic with a different style with Sohmer.

Because I get frustrated trying to track comics, I'm now doing a site that tracks comics. It's about half implemented, maybe. Right now, it lets you search comics by tags, review comics, and keep a watch list of comics you like to follow; it remembers when you last visited those comics and so on.

OK Cho, I blame you for this. I finally got around to checking out Girl Genius and now I'm hopelessly addicted. If any of you haven't seen this yet, it's definitely worth a look. It's got intrigue, romance, complicated plots and MAD SCIENCE! Agatha Heterodyne reminds me a little of Marela too. Assuming she got pulled into a Gaslamp Fantasy story of course, he he.
